Esther's Echo Makes Semi-Final Round of the "Echoing Green" Seed-Funding Fellowship

Thursday, 14 January 2010 17:19 Written by Matthew Cimone

Exciting news!

Esther's Echo has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Echoing Green Seed-Funding fellowship. Over 1200 applicants from across North America apply each year to Echoing Green, a foundation that supports organizations in their early start-up phases. The fellowship, worth 90,000USD, provides start-up capital required for the initial hurdles of starting a non-profit organization. Only 300 applicants carried through to the semi-finals.

After an arduous first round application, we will now be working hard on completing the second round application which is even far more detailed and involved than the first. The second phase application includes 15 essay questions, a chart which outlines our uniqueness in the development industry, a matrix indicating our effectiveness in addressing "root cause" rather than "symptomatic" issues, and finally a two-year budget proposal.

Final deadline for the second phase is February 8th with results back in March. We will keep you posted on our progress! If anybody wants to help by being another pair of eyes to edit, please let us know!
