Welcome to Esther's Echo

Thank you for visiting Esther's Echo. Please note our organization is a vision-in-progress. We are early into our development phases, seeking seed funding for our project launch and working to expand and grow our community of supporters (of which we hope you will become a part of). The purpose of this website is to provide you with information and updates about our organization, and our work towards seeing it grow. If you have any questions about what we do and who we are please don't hesitate to contact us.

Feel free to have a look around and see what we are all about. Esther’s Echo supports community-based organizations (CBOs) in developing countries and student-led initiatives in Canada through use of an online Web 2.0 platform.

We define CBOs are as “non-profit bodies, but with the distinction that they are based in and staffed by the communities they serve...They are the means by which community members mobilize themselves to address some of the pressing issues affecting their communities” (Coetzee et al. 2006). CBOs come in many shapes and sizes from schools for students who otherwise wouldn't have the chance to learn to orphanages for children whose families have been affected by HIV/AIDS to shelters and treatement centers for those addicted to narcotics. Our plan is to use information technology (IT) to provide the link that will channel funds directly to the leaders of these CBOs overseas and locally grown Canadian student projects.

Our goal then is to unite community leaders in need with donors/investors that are seeking projects they can connect to emotionally.
